The Country Music Association has said Charly Pride was tested for Covid-19 before and after the 54th annual CMA Awards in Nashville.

The legendary singer who performed at the awards show on November 11 died on December 11 in Dallas due to complications from Covid-19

CMA said in a statement that everyone affiliated with the CMA Awards followed strict testing protocols outlined by the city health department and unions.

Pride was tested prior to traveling to Nashville, he was tested upon landing in Nashville, and again on show day, with all tests coming back negative. CMA claimed that after returning to Texas following the CMA Awards, Pride again tested negative multiple times.
