Caroline Hawley first started presenting in Bargain Hunt in 2013 and has become a well-known face on day time television having appeared on both Bargain Hunt and Flog It! over the years. But while she is a regular on our screens what is known of her life away from TV?

Who is Caroline Hawley married to?

The antiques dealer is married to former footballer John Hawley.

During his career, John played for many teams including Arsenal, Hull City Scunthorpe United and Bradford City.

Caroline and John are also said to be her business partners in trading, buying and selling antiques.

The Flog It! star was previously married to her first husband Phil who she shares two sons with.

Although not much else is known of the antiques dealer’s life away from her career as she tends to keep it out of the public eye, although Caroline has previously opened up on how she first found her passion of antiquing.

She first tried her hand at antiques and collecting vintage items when she was a teenager.

Teaching herself the trade she later set up shops around where she lived in East Yorkshire.

Since then she has grown her antiques business and often travels around the UK buying items to sell within her shops.

Caroline, who has a degree in French, has since specialised her knowledge of Costume and textiles, French antiques and C19th porcelain/pottery.

Talking of how she first started, Caroline said: “I don’t actually feel that I chose a career in antiques, it just seemed to happen naturally.

“I enjoy all aspects of my working life, and after all these years, I am still learning new things every day.

“Whether entering an antique fair or mounting the rostrum, the excitement remains the same as ever.

“I think myself very lucky that despite the hard work and the inevitable ‘one’s that got away’ I still wake up to a new and exciting day every day.”

Caroline has since spoken of how she feels presenting on Bargain Hunt and Flog It! feels “natural” for her.

She said: “I first got involved in Bargain Hunt in the summer of 2013 after already working on Flog-It for a year.

“I did my first programme from Wetherby racecourse. It felt such a natural environment for me.

“The only difference was that we had a great camera crew in tow filming our every move!”

Bargain Hunt will air from 12.15pm on BBC One.
