Anne Hathaway at Met Gala 2023

Anne Hathaway turned heads when she arrived at the world’s biggest fashion event on Monday night.

The Hollywood actress wowed in a plunging white Versace dress on the red carpet at the Met Gala.

The Ocean’s 8 star, who is the face of the brand’s Icon campaign, looked beautiful as she donned a gown held together with gold safety pins.

Anne also teased her cleavage and chiselled collarbones in the look, thanks to the extremely low-cut neckline.

The impressive frock also boasted a thigh-high slit, which allowed the actress to flaunt her long legs.

It also came with a matching jacket that she draped over her shoulder while she posed for some snaps during her red carpet moment.

Anne’s dress was created with fancy white tweed, which she later described as a “marriage between Versace and Chanel”.

Speaking to Vogue on the red carpet, the actress praised the designer of the dress, saying: “I just do what Donatella [Versace] tells me to do, very gratefully.

“She sent me a sketch for this and I just went, ‘Well, alright.’ I do have to say I work with an amazing team,” she added.

Anne went on to say: “My stylist Erin Walsh, she always puts everything together so it’s really her that does the collaboration. I’m just a lucky girl.”

Anne’s look resembled that of Liz Hurley’s iconic black safety pin Versace dress from 1994.

The black version was worn by Liz to then-boyfriend Hugh Grant’s Four Weddings and a Funeral movie premiere three decades ago.

The stunning piece was originally modelled by Helena Christensen in Versace’s Spring/Summer runway show in 1994 but was brought back for Anne at this year’s Met Gala event.

Anne finished off her look with some Bulgari jewellery, including a decadent choker that paired well with the gold and pearl hardware featured on the gown.

On her feet, she opted for a pair of satin, ivory, pointy-toe platform heels that really elevated the look.

For her hair, the Devil Wear’s Prada star had her long brunette hair styled in a voluminous half-up and half-down look.

Her makeup was soft and subtle which enhanced her natural features to shine through as she posed elegantly on the red carpet.
