Amanda Holden has revealed how she 'secretly exited the studio' after being scared witless by an act during the first Britain's Got Talent live semi-final.

A horror-tinged performance by magician Elizabeth, under the name of The Haunting, had Amanda screaming an expletive before the watershed.

The BGT judge apologised for shouting "f***" with children watching at home but she was left 'shaking with fear' after the terrifying act.

Amanda admitted she "had a panic attack" after the ordeal, when she opened up about being involved in one of the scariest acts to appear on the BGT live shows.

The judge was left in tears after being terrorised by 'ghosts' Florence and Agatha, leading to swear and fear that she might get sacked by Simon Cowell .

After the dust settled, Amanda saw the funny side of what had been one of more stressful live shows she has done for the ITV talent competition.

A couple hours after Britain's Got Talent finished, Amanda posted a pic on Instagram of her climbing a ladder outside the studio, as she looks to escape over the wall.

Still dressed in her spectacular dress and with her legs on show, Amanda looks to make a quick exit among the power cables that are strewn across the floor.

She captioned the pic: "Did someone mention The Haunting? I’m off!!"

If Amanda can get a night's sleep after that ordeal, she will be hoping for a slightly more sedate evening of entertainment when the second semi-final starts on Tuesday night.

*Britain's Got Talent airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm with results at 9pm
