Alison Hammond confirms Holly Willoughby This Morning return

Phillip Schofield, 61, announced he was leaving This Morning with “immediate effect” after 21 years of hosting the show.

Meanwhile, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have stepped into present the show as Phil’s replacement is yet to be confirmed.

Alison has already become a much-loved TV personality thanks to her outgoing personality and hilarious antics onscreen.

Many have hoped that with Phillip now gone, Alison will play a bigger role on This Morning.

The former Big Brother contestant is reported to have put her four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in the West Midlands on sale last Thursday.

She spent a lot of time over the years recording segments for the ITV programme from her home kitchen.

She even showed off her gorgeous garden makeover.

A source recently told The Sun: “The timings are entirely coincidental but are, perhaps, telling.

“Alison loves that house but wants a fresh start. She’s incredibly in demand.

“It’s looking highly likely she will be asked to do more days a week on This Morning — and therefore she will be spending more time in London.”

ITV is filmed in West London and Alison has been a hot commodity in the industry in recent years.

Alison left fans baffled on Tuesday when she referred to the late George Michael being on the show in a tribute to hit pop group, Wham!,

Dermot O’Leary exclaimed: “Go Georgie!” to which Alison responded: “Is he on the show today?”

Her co-star did an excellent job of covering up the mistake by saying: “Andrew Ridgeley! I am so excited.

“Andrew Ridgeley is going to be on the show today. 40 years of Wham! Can you imagine?”

George Michael sadly died more than six years ago, on Christmas Day of 2016.

Viewers of the show were quick to call out the blunder. One Twitter user wrote: “Oh, really, Alison? Did you resurrect him from the grave? I’m gonna guess… no. #ThisMorning.”
