Neighbours has made huge changes to its opening titles in the wake of Sheila Canning’s (Colette Mann) departure.

Sheila left Ramsay Street in low-key off-screen scenes last week, after she received word that daughter Naomi’s partner had taken ill.

A scene in Friday’s (February 18) edition of the Aussie soap saw Kyle (Chris Milligan) receive a phone call from his gran, who had landed in the US, as she broke the sad news that Naomi’s partner had died.

Actress Colette Mann, meanwhile, confirmed news of Sheila’s exit from the show earlier this month, responding to a fan who asked if her departure would be permanent.

‘Looks that way’, she replied.

Neighbours has therefore updated its intro to reflect this change, removing Sheila from the title sequence.

A brand new section has been filmed for the Cannings, which sees Kyle in the company of his cousin Levi (Richie Morris), and wife Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson) as they take a stroll across a beach.

Roxy had previously appeared alongside Ned (Ben Hall) and Amy Greenwood (Jacinta Stapleton) at The Flamingo Bar site.

Which brings us nicely to the second change made to the titles.

Following the destruction of The Flamingo Bar, a new sequence has been filmed for Amy and Ned too, with Zara Zelwyn (Freya Van Dyke) now featuring alongside them.

Pretty cool, right?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
