Hours earlier she rocked a similarly-sheer, similarly-showstopping gown on the Met steps, which involved a bewjewelled bikini top and skirt, with a trailing train and headpiece to match.

She brought the thing on home in the camp stakes by donning a black, feathered shawl which draped around her as she made her big entrance.

The event this year was based on Susan Sontag’s 2018 essay Notes On ‘Camp’, which echoed the theme of Camp: Notes On Fashion.

Stars such as Kim Kardashian, who was dressed as dripping latex, Cardi B, who wore a duvet, and Katy Perry, who went from chandelier chic to dressed as a burger took to the esteemed red carpet.

The event this year was hosted by Harry Styles, Gucci’s Alessandro Michele, Lady Gaga, Serena Williams and Anna Wintour.
