THE Kissing Booth co-stars captured fans with their on screen chemistry, and people were obsessed with the real life rom com couple. 

So what caused their split?

Why did Joey King and Jacob Elordi split? 

King and Elordi first met in January of 2017, while filming the soon to be hit Netflix film, The Kissing Booth. 

King played Elle Evans, a  high school student who falls for her best friend's brother, bad boy Noah Flynn, played by Jacob Elordi. 

The two had brilliant chemistry on screen and fans were delighted when the couple confirmed their real life romance through Instagram. 

Things started to turn sour at the beginning of 2019. 

Fans started speculating about their relationship when they stopped posting each other on their social media. 

The pair had been regularly posting cosy selfies and relationship updates, but when two months passed without an update, fans started to worry.

On November 14th of 2018, Elordi reportedly announced via Instagram story that he was going to be taking a break from social media. 

The next day, King tweeted, “Thank god I have my dog tho,”.

King and Elordi then deleted all pictures of their relationship and unfollowed each other at the start of 2019.

It is rumoured the split was caused by Elordi landing the role of Nate on hit HBO show Euphoria. 

It is thought that his schedule would have been too packed to keep the relationship going. 

How long were Joey King and Jacob Elordi dating? 

The pair were together for around two years. 

And things seemed serious between the two. 

There was never an official confirmation of when sparks started to fly between the two, but King told magazine Seventeen that she started to see Elordi as more than a friend about a month into filming. 

King gushed about Elordi, telling Seventeen, “There was nothing we wouldn’t talk about. He’s just so great. After the first month I was like, ‘Hmm I think I like him”. 

King and Elordi made it Instagram official in 2017. 

The pair were spotted showing serious PDA at a screening of The Kissing Booth in L.A. 

King and Elordi travelled together, visiting Australia where Elordi is from. 

They confirmed their split at the start of 2019 when they unfollowed each other on social media. 

Several months after they split it was confirmed that the now ex couple would be working together on The Kissing Booth two and three.
